A Scan Eagle unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) launches from the amphibious dock landing ship USS Comstock (LSD 45). Scan Eagle is a runway independent, long-endurance, UAV system designed to provide multiple surveillance, reconnaissance data and conduct battlefield damage assessment missions. Comstock is underway supporting maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility.
